USAAF officers OD crusher cap - Bancroft Flighter

US Army Air Forces officers / Army Air Corps OD crusher cap, "Flighter" model manufactured by the renown Bancroft.

Dark OD wool gabardine crown, green wool officer mohair band, brown leather chinstrap, and single-ply soft leather visor with rolled edge. Regulation-size officer front insignia with nice patina.

The leather sweatband shows the Bancroft Flighter with the pre-1945 "Pat. Pend." marking.

Condition :

Used condition. This one has definitely been worn. Several small moth damage on the crown. The plastic lining is missing. I am unsure if it dried out and fell off, or if it was removed to allow the officer to give his cap an even more 'crushed' form.

Casquette dite "crusher" d'un officier l'US Army Air Forces / Army Air Corps de couleur verte du modèle "Flighter" fabriquée par le fabricant renommé "Bancroft".

Belle forme avec coiffe en laine de gabardine verte foncée, bande d'officier en laine verte, visière molle, et jugulaire en cuir brun. Insigne frontal d'officier de taille normale avec belle patine.

La bande de sudation en cuir montre le logo Bancroft Flighter avec la variante du marquage "Pat. Pend." datant d'avant 1945.

Dimensions :

Taille 6 7/8 ou 7 (US) - Entre 55 et 56 (EUR)

Condition :

Bonne condition avec usure modérée. Cette casquette a été portée. Plusieurs petits trous de mites sur la partie supérieure. La protection plastifiée intérieure est absente. Je ne sais pas si celle-ci s'est durci et s'est détachée ou si celle-ci a été volontairement retirée afin que cet officier puisse donner a cette casquette un aspect encore plus "écrasé".
